Requirements for articles

Articles are accepted within the following five groups of specialties in accordance with the "Range of specialties of science and research staff”

Materials of articles coming to edition pass two stages of processing:

1. Technical examination during which verification of an article is carried out on (3–4 working days):

– compliance with the thematic directions of the journal;

– availability of a complete set of documents;

– proper registration;

– plagiarism.

After technical examination the article can be rejected, returned on completion or is directed to reviewing.

The reasons for rejection of the article are as follows:

– discrepancy of the article to the thematic directions of the journal;

– poor quality of article;

– high percentage of plagiarism;

– violation of ethical principles.

The reasons for return of the article on completion are as follows:

– lack of a part of documents;

– poor quality of the article.

After correction of remarks, the author has to send a new complete set of documents.

2. Reviewing is carried out in compliance with an established order (the minimum duration - 15 working days).

Dear authors, before editing an article please pay attention to the following points:

1. It is necessary to strictly observe the rules of editing papers and conform to the forms of the documents presented on this site.

2.  Editing the documents and articles following the rules set by other journals is not allowed.

3. The article is considered only with the entire set of documents available.

4. In the case the set of documents is incomplete or fails to comply with the requirements of the journal, the editorial board has the right to reject an article for technical reasons.

5. The articles authored by family members (in case one of the authors is a post-graduate student, a Master's student or a student) are not allowed for publication.

6. In the course of the editing process of papers the editors have the right to introduce technical changes (moving figures and tables in the text, changing font type and size, etc.) aimed at ensuring the required format. Changes related to the content of the article are made with the author’s consent only.

Dear authors, commenting and considering the articles are made via e-mail, so you are strongly required to check your e-mail, in case of a delayed response the editors may reject the article as not meeting the requirements.

SET OF DOCUMENTS SUBMITTED TO THE EDITOR (digital and hard copies)

1. An article which meets the "Requirements to the content and editing of articles for publication in a scientific and theoretical journal" Bulletin of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov" (Example 1" Article ", download). The file must be called by the name of the first author. The article is originally submitted in doc. or docx. Format. Saving articles with the change of format is prohibited.

2. An abstract in Russian and English, in accordance with Example 2 "Abstract" download

3. Information about the authors, as shown in Example 3, "Information about the authors" download.

Dear authors, the form "Contact information" the author responsibility should be highlighted in bold, the editorial board will be able to contact him in case of questions and comments on the article.

4. Expert conclusion Example 4 "Expert conclusion" download. In case a university does not have an Expert Conclusion form, the authors must submit a letter on the University letterhead  signed by an authorized person (e.g.,vice-rector for scientific work), which will state that this article does not contain information requiring a permit to be published from the Ministry of Education and Science and  may be published without restrictions.

COMMON MISTEKES MADE BY THE AUTHORS

1. Using requirements and forms set by other editions.

2. Incorrect references (using other standards, no page references in the sources). Reference list in the form of footnotes is not allowed.

3. The use of headers and footers, and page numbering.

4. Incorrect arrangement of an abstract (absence of a paper title, authors’ names or key words in the English version).

5. The number of key words exceeds the allowable number (5-7).

6. Indicating home address instead of work address in the “Information about the authors” form.

7. The absence of titles of tables and figures.

Dear authors!

POOR EDITING QUALITY OF THE ARTICLE GIVES THE EDITORIAL BOARD THE RIGHT TO REJECT A PAPER FOR TECHNICAL REASONS !!!

In case the editorial board has any comments (absence of a part of the documentation, editing style, etc.), after the correction of these shortcomings the author is obliged to send the complete set of documents again, and receive a confirmation of the acceptance of an article for consideration.
